Bigger fish to fry

September 21, 2008

This is mainly a link repository until I get around to creating a real web page.  See the Resources and Writings pages.  My Amazon reviews may be found here.

I am very happy to say that I have little desire to blog in the “cultural commentator” sense.  I have a desire to write (which I why I will keep publishing essays on my Xanga), but why blog?  Why enter my thoughts here in a piecemeal and unrelated fashion?  If blogging helps you learn, so be it, but I hope you learn quickly so you can soon move beyond blogging.  Our time is limited.  Is blogging the best way to build the kingdom of God?

The Information Age is a bane and a boon for the aspiring apologist: for every opportunity to learn, an opportunity to waste time.  And learning can become a means of wasting time.  You don’t need to know everything, and you won’t know everything so please don’t destroy yourself trying.  Be purposeful in your learning.  Your larger goal should involve the edification or salvation of others.

The above I write for myself, but by sharing it maybe others will find the motivation to get off of the internet and do something a little more meaningful.

Writing that was truly liberating.  Thank God.
